TYPES OF CONSULTATIONS

SLEEP STUDY

Once you have a Sleep Apnoea Gold Coast referral signed by your doctor we will book you in for a sleep study. You will attend an appointment where you will receive detailed instructions on how to set up your sleep study monitor at home. We will explain why we are using each piece of equipment and why it is important to your diagnosis. See Sleep Studies for more information.

SLEEP STUDY RESULTS

A consultation to review your results and discuss anything of concern will be booked for you when your results are back from the lab. This will be an extended appointment to ensure you leave with a comprehensive understanding of your results and treatment options if required. Sleep Apnoea Gold Coast collaborates with your doctor for comprehensive care.

INITIAL CONSULTATIONS

If you are already on CPAP/APAP therapy and have not had a review in a few years, we can review data from your machine (if available) to assess the efficacy of your treatment. We will explain your data so you are understanding your own results. If you are still symptomatic despite being on CPAP/APAP therapy, we are able to troubleshoot any issues you may be having to optimise your therapy.

In these consults, we can also discuss the physiology of sleep apnoea and ensure you have a good understanding of what is happening to you when you sleep. We also cover how CPAP/APAP therapy works to control your sleep apnoea.

FOLLOW -UP CONSULTATIONS

APAP/CPAP SET UP CONSULTATIONS

APAP/CPAP set-up consultations will cover the physiology of sleep apnoea, review sleep study results, and provide education on available treatments. After a full mask fitting in-store, an appropriate mask and machine is selected which is tailored to your individual therapy. This is followed by education regarding the cleaning, use and care of your machine.

For patients who have purchased a machine elsewhere, we can assist with the set up of your device and answer any questions the equipment or how it works etc.

MASK FITTING ONLY

If you are already on APAP or CPAP but need a new mask fit.
